How to Plan the Perfect Mother’s Day in Everett, WA
Mother’s Day is around the corner, and I think we can all agree that the mothers and mother figures of the world have earned an extra serving of appreciation this year (and every year, hello)! If you’re lucky enough to celebrate with your mom this year and want to get it just right, or you’re celebrating yourself as a mom (sound weird? Nonsense- you deserve it) stick around, because we’ve done the work to bring you the best ideas for celebrating Mother’s Day in Everett, WA.
Brunch
If you and your mom are vegan or vegan-curious brunchers, you’ll surely want to visit Sage & Cider, a vegan restaurant serving seasonal share plates, craft cocktails, and brunch just South of Everett in Mukilteo. If that’s not you, head equal distance East towards Lake Stevens to enjoy weekend brunch at fan-favorite LJ’s Bistro & Bar.
Really “WOW” the woman of the hour by planning a ferry ride to Whidbey Island for breakfast at The Braeburn or The Flower House Cafe, or keep it close to home for weekend brunch at Everett’s favorite eateries like Anthony’s Homeport or Lombardi’s Italian. Lombardi’s also came to save the day with a Mother’s Day take-home gift box and brunch kit if you’d prefer to enjoy your meal with a view from the terrace at your Waterfront Place apartment. No matter which spot you choose, your mom will feel extra special because you (repeat after me) made reservations!
Flowers, etc.
Don’t forget the petals! Order ahead for pickup or delivery from local flower shop Stadium Flowers– This is a great option if you’d like to surprise your mom first thing with a fresh bouquet. Mother’s Day is also opening day at the Everett Farmers’ Market, so go browse some local goodies and pick out a batch of fresh stems while you’re at it! If you’ve decided to run with the Whidbey Island idea, tack a stop at Bayview Farm & Garden to your breakfast at their partnering Flower House Cafe for plants, flowers, and plenty of other gifts your mom would love!
Get To Nature
The Everett area is home to some of the most breathtaking outdoor experiences in the Pacific Northwest. Get active in nature with a Stand Up Paddle rental from Hydrology or a hike through the lush Japanese Gulch in Mukilteo. If you’d rather soak in the scenery leisurely-style, American Legion Memorial Park and Lowell Riverfront Park are two incredible spots with panoramic views, both within footsteps of your Waterfront Place Apartment. Whidbey Island adventurers, you can choose from a number of State Parks to enjoy during your day trip as well!
